Over the last few years there have been a number of stars to watch and it seems that the main roster is getting ready for an influx of new talent. Names like Oba Femi, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams and Joe Hendry have been making appearances on the main roster in recent weeks, and it looks like Femi has made the most of his opportunities so far.
Bodyslam is reporting that WWE officials were said to be “unbelievably impressed” by Oba Femi’s recent appearances on SmackDown and Saturday Night’s Main Event. Sources have indicated that company officials see Oba Femi as someone who is on par with Bron Breakker.
WWE has been airing vignettes for Femi on both Raw and SmackDown, and the expectation is that he will be called up to the main roster very soon. Based on Bron Breakker’s current push Oba Femi is expected to be a special case and a main event player for years to come.
Oba Femi defeated Ricky Saints to win the NXT Championship for the second time in his career earlier this month at Deadline. Currently Femi is set to defend the NXT Championship against Leon Slater at New Year’s Evil next week.
Stay tuned for updates.
