Appearing on the cover of the yearly WWE video game is a big honor. It was announced this year that Steve Austin would be appearing on the cover but it appears that he wasn’t the first choice of everyone in the WWE.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, some WWE officials were pushing for Roman Reigns to be on the cover. The overall feeling however is that the game would be easier to promote with Austin on the cover which is why they went with him instead.
