WWE Monday Night Raw Results 9/30/2013

This edition of Raw came to us live from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in  Biloxi, Miss. as it was Susan G. Komen Rise Above Cancer night.

We started the show with CM Punk, who was sporting a new T-shirt and came out  to a rousing ovation from the fans.

CM Punk grabbed  the microphone and said that there has been a lot of predictability lately.

He said that it was predictable that Paul Heyman would brag about beating him  at Night of Champions. That it was predictable that he would try to beat up  Heyman once he bragged about it and that he would get jumped by Ryback and  Curtis Axel before putting a beating on Heyman.

Punk said he was OK with all of that because he knows how the story ends. He  said the story ends after he puts Ryback and Axel to sleep and gets his hands on Heyman. Once Heyman realizes  that no one is going to save him, CM Punk will put an end to him.

Punk then said the story could end at Battleground Sunday or it could Monday  at Raw.

He then said that he wasn’t going to leave the ring until he got a fight.

Raw general manager Brad Maddox interrupted CM Punk and said he understands his frustrations, but a  confrontation with Heyman, Ryback and Axel Monday was not good for business. He will have his chance Sunday.

Maddox then said as Raw general manager he could put CM Punk into a match if he wanted  one.

Punk cut Maddox off and said that he needs an outlet to his aggression.  Before CM Punk got out another word, Big E Langston (Where has he been?) came  out to the ring.

Langston grabbed the microphone from Maddox and asked CM Punk if he wanted  aggression.

Before CM Punk could answer, Langston told him, “I’m your man.” He then  attacked CM Punk.

CM Punk managed to dodge  Langston as he was running at him in the corner. Maddox was still in the ring  observing all of this and decided to bring out a referee for a match between the  two.

Match 1 – CM Punk vs. Big E Langston

After a commercial break, CM Punk had some measure of control during the match. It  didn’t take long for Langston to use his power to take control of the affair.  Langston even used an Ultimate Warrior-like splash to CM Punk’s back.

CM Punk fought back for short spurts of time, but was routinely cut off by  the more powerful Langston.

Punk eventually fought his way back into the match and managed to land a  series of moves, including an elbow drop from the top rope.

After hitting the elbow drop, CM Punk hit Langston with the GTS to win the  match.

Winner: CM Punk

Match 2 – Fandango vs. Kofi Kingston

Fandango controlled a good portion of the match while Kingston made numerous  attempts to quicken the pace. Fandango, however, thwarted Kingston and  kept the match at his pace.

Kingston fended off Fandango and hit the trouble in paradise to pick up the  win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston

Unfortunately for Kingston, the Wyatt Family showed up after the match.  Kingston stood in the ring with a steel chair in hand.

Bray Wyatt grabbed the microphone and said another cryptic promo to Kingston.  I have no idea what he was talking about, but he delivered it very well.

But out of nowhere, the telecast went to commercial break. And that was  it.

After the break, Brie Bella was backstage talking to her sister Nikki about  how excited she was about being the No. 1 contender for the Divas Championship  at Battleground.

They were interrupted once again by Randy Orton. Orton congratulated her on  being engaged to Daniel Bryan.

Orton asker her when the marriage was going to take place. Brie Bella didn’t  give an answer.

Orton told her that it would be within her best interest to plan it to take place sooner rather than later because  after his match with Bryan at Battleground, Bryan won’t be able to walk down the  aisle.

We then go to Renee Young as she interviewed Heyman backstage. She asked him  about what CM Punk had to say earlier in the show.

Heyman said that CM Punk is so obsessed with getting his hands on him, but he  will never be able to again.

He then called CM Punk a nobody who became a “Paul Heyman guy” and then  became WWE Champion. Once he became WWE Champion, Heyman said that CM Punk  forgot what made them both the best in the world.

Young then asked Heyman if he had another trap set up for CM Punk as she saw  Ryback and Axel hiding behind some stuff.

Heyman responded by saying that his pure existence is a trap for CM Punk.  Heyman then said that he had a huge night planned for Raw and if CM Punk was man  enough, he would try to do something about it.

Match 3 – 3MB  (Heath Slater & Jinder Mahal) vs.  Los Matadores

Primo and Epico, cough, Diego and Fernando finally made their debut with El  Torito, a midget wrestler dressed up as a bull luchador.

I heard that this was the case for weeks now, but I did not want to believe  it. But it is indeed true. However, the midget has amazing athletic ability. He  could make for some endless possibilities with the tag team.

By the way, Los Matadores look like Aldo Montoya had twin sons.

As for the match itself, Los Matadores maintained the upper hand for the  majority of the match.

The tandem showcased their athletic ability and said “Ole!” quite a bit,  which reminded me of El Generico, who is in WWE Sami Zayn.

To end the match, the tag team used an impressive double team move to Slater  for the win.

Winner: Los Matadores

We are then greeted by the presence of WWE COO Triple H and Stephanie  McMahon, who was referred to by ring announcer Justin Roberts as “The  Authority.”

Triple H got on the microphone and invited the Rhodes family to the ring. Out came the Rhodes family: Dusty, Dustin and  Cody. Dustin, better known as Goldust, still wore the face paint despite wearing  a pretty nice suit.

Triple H wondered why the Rhodes family had a bunch of angry looks on their  faces. He said that they invited the family to Raw out of the goodness of their  hearts and doesn’t think he should be met by hostility.

Triple H then asked Dusty Rhodes if he was still bitter about not being able  to make outside of the Florida territory and National Wrestling Alliance (NWA),  which is something that the majority of the audience has no idea about.

Stephanie McMahon then told Dusty Rhodes that he has the most important job in the WWE as he  trains and develops the prospects at the company’s new performance center in  Orlando.

She said that he literally holds those prospects’ futures in his hands and  it’s ironic that her along with Triple H hold the futures of his sons in their  hands.

Stephanie McMahon then got down to the proposition. She then told Cody and  Dustin Rhodes that they would like to give them the opportunity to get jobs. All they had to  do was defeat the WWE Tag Team Champions, Seth Rollins and Roman Reins of The Shield, at  Battleground.

But Triple H told them that if they lost to The Shield they would never work  in the company again and their father Dusty Rhodes would join them on the unemployment line.

Dusty Rhodes then snatched the microphone from Triple H’s hand and got right  in his face.

He then told Triple H that he was going to be in his son’s corner at  Battleground. Stephanie McMahon then told Dusty Rhodes that he looked like he  was itching for a fight and that he’d better be careful. Because he just may get  one.

Before the Rhodes family left the ring, The Shield hit the ring and put a beating on them.

(Side note: Something tells me that the Rhodes brothers could win the match and get their  jobs back, but something else tells me that Cody Rhodes may turn on his own  family.)

Match 4 – R-Truth vs. Curtis Axel

Axel and R-Truth put on a solid back and forth match that saw Axel dictate  the pace.

While Axel was in control, CM Punk’s music began playing, but there was no  sign of CM Punk. Axel stood in the middle of the ring dumbfounded until R-Truth  hit the lie detector to pick up the victory.

Winner: R-Truth

After the match, the camera panned to Heyman, who had a look on his face that  he knew that he had been had by CM Punk.

After the break, Michael Cole announced that WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus  delivered her baby boy named Maximus Stratus Fisico Monday night.

John Bradshaw Layfield then said, “With a name like Maximus, he better learn  how to fight.”

Match 5 – Brie Bella vs. Alicia Fox

During the match, Divas champ AJ Lee was backstage with Tamina Snuka (Where  has she been?) watching the match on a monitor.

The match itself between the two was actually kind of entertaining, mainly  because they received more than two minutes to work.

The finish came when Brie Bella hit Fox with a face buster.

Winner: Brie Bella

After some commercials, Axel is pacing in his locker room with Heyman. Heyman  told Axel to relax because CM Punk was out of his league if thought he could  outsmart them.

Ryback walked in and said that no one needs to be distracted by CM Punk. He  said if he wants them, CM Punk could come get them.

Heyman then advised Ryback to just go get something to eat and he’d come by  and see him in a couple of minutes. Ryback obliged.

Heyman then told Axel that ever since Ryback saved him he has new outlook on  life and that he was going to do something that he should have done ever since  Ryback saved his life: propose to Ryback.

Another backstage interview was in store as Young interviewed Big Show. Big  Show said that his financial situation is being held over him. He said that  people tell him all the time to be a man and do the right thing.

Big Show then said that is all easy to say when it isn’t their necks on the  line. He said that he is being forced to choose between the lesser of two evils.  If it were up to him, he would choose evil at all.

Big Show then said that there’s only so much that he thinks he cane take. As  a matter of fact, he’s not going to take it anymore. He said that he’s going to  find Triple H and tell him exactly how he felt.

He finished his promo by saying, “I’m going to knock Triple H the hell  out.”

After the break, R-Truth was in Maddox’s office asking for an  Intercontinental title shot when Big Show stormed in. R-Truth scurried away  quickly.

Big Show was not playing games as he asked Maddox where Triple H was. Maddox  said he didn’t know. Big Show then picked Maddox up against a wall and told him  to find Triple H while he sat in his office.

Match 6 – Alberto Del Rio vs. Zack Ryder

Ryder got out to a hot start and even knocked Del Rio out of the ring. Ryder  then went for a dive over the top rope, but Del Rio got out of the way and  gained the momentum in the match.

Ryder held his own during the match and hit a couple of his signature moves,  including the Broski boot.

Del Rio quickly recovered, however, locked in the cross arm breaker and  forced Ryder to tap out.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

After some commercials, Heyman and Ryback came out for the proposal. Heyman said that not only was he able to pin  CM Punk, but he’s also a world-renowned expert in political science.

He then said that it is his theory that you cannot put down insurgents on  their own soil. Since he owns CM Punk, he knows that he had to against his own  theory and take out the rebellious CM Punk in his hometown of Chicago.

Heyman gave CM Punk credit for his commitment to breaking his face. But the  only reason why that hasn’t happened yet is because of the independent  commitment of Ryback.

Ryback then took the microphone and said that if there’s one thing he hates  is bullies. He said that CM Punk took the knowledge that Heyman gave to him and  hurled back into his face.

Ryback affectionately grabbed Heyman’s face and told him that he was a genius  and there’s nothing he wouldn’t do for him. Heyman thanked Ryback by touching  heads with him.

Heyman took back the microphone and said that there is such a progressive  society on 2013 and it’s time for people to progress and express their true  feelings.

Heyman said that ever since Ryback saved his life at Night of Champions, he  feels liberated and that he wants feel that way every single day for the rest of  his life.

Heyman said that he wanted to make a commitment to Ryback until “death do us  part.” He then told Ryback that he wanted to make honest man out of him (I fell  out of my chair laughing), took his hand and got on one knee. Ryback put a look  on his face of the unsure women being proposed to in front of a lot of people.  Heyman then asked him, “Ryback, will you become a Paul Heyman guy?”

Before Ryback could give his answer, CM Punk’s music began to play again with  no sign of him. CM Punk finally appeared through the crowd and jumped over the  barricade, but landed awkwardly and grabbed his knee in pain.

CM Punk grimaced in pain for a little bit before finally trying to jump in  the ring. CM Punk got to the ring apron, but fell back down to the floor. A WWE  doctor then came over to check on him.

CM Punk crawled back to the side of the ring when Heyman stepped to the ropes  to check on him. Out of nowhere, CM Punk shoved the doctor and somehow grabbed a  kendo stick from under the ring and hit Heyman in the ankle with it.

CM Punk then unloaded on Ryback and Axel with the Kendo stick. Ryback and  Heyman bailed from the ring, leaving Axel alone with CM Punk.

CM Punk wasted little time putting Axel in the GTS.

Match 7 – The Shield vs. Dolph Ziggler & The  Usos

Ziggler and the Usos started the match at a lighting-quick pace and held the  momentum over The Shield heading into commercial break.

After the break, The Shield was in firm control of the match as they cut off  the ring from one of the Usos.

The Uso made the hot tag to Ziggler who came in the ring and cleaned house. A  melee ensues between the two teams.

In the midst of all that, Reins blind tagged Seth Rollins. Rollins fell  victim to a zig zag from Ziggler. Ziggler turned around and was met by a spear  from Reins to end the match.

Winner: The Shield

After the break, Big Show was met in Triple H’s office by a group of police officers. The officers seemed as though they  wanted to take him to jail.

Stephanie McMahon talked the officers out of it by bringing up Big Show’s  financial problems again. Stephanie McMahon then hit him with the low blow of  her talking to his wife and saying that he hasn’t exactly measured up to her  expectations.

Big Show began to cry, but stopped when he looked at a poster of Triple H’s  DVD. He punched a whole through it and the wall behind it and walked away.

Another special guest was to be interviewed backstage as Young talked to Rob  Van Dam about hits World Heavyweight title match against Del Rio at  Battleground.

Van Dam talked about how Del Rio doesn’t know how he can get when it’s  hardcore rules.

Match 8 – Antonio Cesaro vs. Santino Marella

Zeb Coulter was on the microphone before the match and said Mississippi  reminded him of a third-world country.

This was a typical back-and-forth match between the two. Cesaro put Santino  in his incredible spinning move where he spun him around about 20 times.

Santino tried to get up, but fell right back down. Despite that, Santino  managed to get Cesaro in some wacky-looking pin to pick up the win.

Winner: Santino Marella

We’re finally ready for the face-to-face between Bryan and Orton. Jerry “The King”  Lawler played the role of master of ceremonies for the confrontation.

Lawler told the two that it was meant to be a verbal confrontation only.  Lawler asked the two about Triple H’s decision to strip Bryan of the WWE  title.

Orton said at first it upset him that Triple H didn’t give him the title  back, but that wore off once he realized that it gave him the opportunity to  reach his full potential.

He then said that the watered down viper was gone and that the viper void of  morality was back.

Orton then told Bryan that he was going to win the WWE title at Battleground  because he was genetically superior to the small and weak Bryan.

Bryan responded by saying that Orton talks a great game and it even looked  like he practiced in front of a mirror a few times.

He asked Orton why Triple H felt the need to motivate and inspire him. He  said that Triple H did it because he knew that Orton couldn’t reach his full  potential without it.

Bryan then said he may be small and weak, but he has never needed any outside  motivation to reach his full potential.

Orton told Bryan that he knows he’s been a roll of late. He’s even marrying a  Bella. Orton then wondered what she even saw in Bryan.

Orton told Bryan that one day, she’s going to realize that she’s not married  to a handsome champion like him and that she’s sleeping with a barnyard  animal.

Bryan had heard enough and began to attack Orton. Bryan knocked Orton out of  the ring and kept the attack on.

Orton managed to throw Bryan into the steel steps to gain an edge in the  fight. Orton then began throwing Bryan into the ring post.

Orton then attempted to DDT Bryan when Brie Bella ran out to save her man.  She pleaded with Orton to not DDT Bryan. Orton did anyway.

Orton wasn’t done as he put Bryan on the announce table and hit the RKO.
