WWE Makes Official Announcement Concerning Jeff Hardy’s Injury

It looks like all of our hope that Jeff Hardy’s recently injury wouldn’t be a very big deal was all for not. Because WWE just confirmed The Charismatic Egnima is in fact injured.

As noted on Wrestling Observer Radio, Jeff Hardy actually injured his shoulder during the 30-minute iron man match for the Raw Tag Team Titles at Great Balls Of Fire but it wasn’t until recently when his injury got out of hand.

Now WWE confirms Jeff Hardy will, in fact, need surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff.

WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Stephen Daquino spoke to WWE where he said, “Jeff is dealing with a rotator cuff tear right now […] It’s a full thickness tear of his supraspinatus tendon and a couple of other areas in the shoulder. He’s going to go for evaluation and probably for surgery next week.”

Hardy also tore his labrum and he was initially under the assumption he had dislocated his shoulder as well.

Jeff Hardy also commented on the injury by saying, “once they get in there, they’ll figure out more about what they have to repair […] But for sure, the rotator cuff has to be repaired, and then they’ll look at the labrum when they get in there.”

The former Brother Nero also went on to say, “It’s depressing. More than any time in a career, it’s those times that make you go, ‘Wow, I love professional wrestling.’ It sucks that I can’t be involved in [a] match or can’t get in there and do what I normally do because I’m injured, but I just have to get over that, stop worrying about it and look forward and push myself to get repaired and healed and come back better than ever with a brand-new shoulder.”

But even though Hardy might be out of commission, he still has no shortage of wild ideas for the ring.

“There’s a lot of crazy ideas,” said Hardy. “It inspires me to think a lot more about what I can do other than the extreme stunts and still be entertaining.”
