You never know when WWE might make a change to their commentary teams as it was revealed last week that Kevin Patrick had been removed from his position working as an announcer on SmackDown. It was later reported that WWE decided to release Kevin Patrick.
Michael Cole filled in for Kevin Patrick on Friday Night SmackDown last week, but Cole was back behind the desk for the red brand on Monday Night Raw this week.
Pat McAfee returned made his way down to the commentary table at the beginning of Raw and he sat himself down next to Michael Cole. As McAfee got himself situated Michael Cole announced that he and McAfee will be the new commentary team for the Monday Night Raw brand moving forward.
Wade Barrett had been calling the action with Michael Cole on Monday Night Raw, but there’s currently no word on what WWE has planned for Barrett now that the company is moving forward with Cole and Pat McAfee on Raw.
There’s also no word on who Kevin Patrick’s permanent replacement will be on SmackDown, or who will be working SmackDown this week alongside Corey Graves. Stay tuned for updates.
