If anything these breakaway tables are actually more dangerous. We all remember that time HHH tore his quad when the table fell apart with him on it. How many other injuries have their been when the table just collapses with them on it. The standard wooden tables were much better, many would argue they were actually safer. They also add that bit more realism to the spot.
