Back in August of 2019, WWE resurrected the King of the Ring tournament, and Baron Corbin went on to win it all. Since then Baron Corbin has been referring to himself as King Corbin, and recently he’s been feuding with Shinsuke Nakamura over his crown on SmackDown.
King Corbin recently appeared on The Bump, and Kayla Braxton mentioned how Xavier Woods wants to become King of the Ring someday. Corbin talked about Xavier possibly coming for the crown during his appearance, and he noted that a tournament is the only way to truly earn it.
“At least @AustinCreedWins wants to earn an opportunity to wear the #KOTR crown. The tournament is what’s necessary to wear that crown. I would love to face him in that tournament.”
WWE official Adam Pearce then noted that he’s had many conversations with Xavier Woods about KOTR, and he told fans to stay tuned.
I know that I have had many conversations with @BaronCorbinWWE on this very topic. Stay tuned. https://t.co/jTC8l8VAkA

Adam Pearce didn’t guarantee that a King of the Ring tournament will be happening, but he did tell Xavier Woods that if it does come to pass, it wouldn’t just be for him.
Should a #KOTR Tournament come to pass, it wouldn’t just be for you. It’d be for us all, my friend.

Woods then went on to tease that he will be making King Corbin bend the knee if a KOTR tournament does happen, and he received some interesting responses from Corbin.
When the tournament does happen, please believe that I’ll be the one forcing @BaronCorbinWWE to bend the knee #RespectTheCrown https://t.co/0KcubBrGiM
