WWE Issues Statement On 24/7 Title, Rob Gronkowski’s NFL Return

A few weeks ago it was reported that Rob Gronkowski signed a deal with WWE, and he went on to host WrestleMania 36 where he won the 24/7 Championship.

But not it’s been reported that Rob Gronkowski is set to return to the NFL and he will play alongside Tom Brady as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer.

Fans have wondered what Gronk’s NFL return means for the WWE 24/7 Championship, and WWE has issued a statement mandating that the title must be defended.

“Congratulations to @RobGronkowski, the current WWE 24/7 Champion, on his return to football. Per the rules of the 24/7 Title, Gronk must defend his championship at all times in any location. He could be celebrating a touchdown pass from @TomBrady… anytime, anywhere.”
