WWE Issues Statement In Response To Anonymous Employee Trying To Shut Down TV Tapings

The last few weeks have been crazy for WWE as the company has had to make some major changes due to the coronavirus, but nevertheless WWE has found a way to continue taping Raw, SmackDown, NXT and pay-per-views.

WWE was recently deemed essential, and the TV tapings at the Performance Center have continued, but one employee is trying to get them shut down.

An anonymous employee referred to as “John” filed a complaint with the Orange County Board of Directors saying that employees are being “forced to work” despite stay at home orders, and that they’re afraid to speak up due to fear of losing their jobs. “John” requested that the government shut down the TV tapings at the Performance Center.

WWE issued the following statement to PWInsider in response to the complaint:

“These accusations aren’t true. Employees know they can confidentially go to Human Resources, not the public. Notwithstanding the appropriate protocol, no one would be fired if they were uncomfortable with their surroundings. We’ve made accommodations for individuals upon request.”
