Last year WWE signed a huge 10 year deal with the Saudi General Sports Authority to bring WWE events to Saudi Arabia, and the company kicked things off with the Greatest Royal Rumble in April.
WWE later returned to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel in November, and the event turned out to be one of the most controversial shows in the history of the company due to the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
Fightful is now reporting that WWE’s next event in Saudi Arabia is currently scheduled to take place on May 3.
In the weeks leading up to Crown Jewel, there was a lot of pressure on WWE to cancel the event, or move it to a different location.
Ultimately the company decided to move ahead with the event, but the company shied away from referencing Saudi Arabia prior to the show.
With WWE’s next Saudi event reportedly set to take place in May, it will be interesting to see when it’s announced and how the company promotes the event once it’s made official.
