The pro wrestling business can sometimes be a minefield full of unexpected incidents, accidents, and drama. When one superstar goes down with injury things have to be reworked, especially if it’s a big loss. At this point, there can’t be much of a bigger loss than Braun Strowman. The Monster Among Men is out of action due to an elbow injury and that is not good news for WWE creative.
Braun Strowman was set to take on Brock Lesnar at the Raw brand’s July PPV, Great Balls Of Fire (that name is still going to take some getting used to). Now things might need to be reworked and apparently, WWE is still trying to figure things out.
Dave Meltzer said on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Live that WWE creative is holding an emergency meeting today in order to figure out their direction. The Universal Title scene is kind of up in the air at this point and things might need to be moved around pronto.
The current feeling is if Braun Strowman is ready to go by Great Balls Of Fire, then nothing needs to be tweaked. But there are still some questions surrounding the situation.
If Strowman is able to come back by the July 9th Great Balls Of Fire PPV, then everything might be good to go. But in all honesty, it might be the best thing for Strowman’s character to hold off the big Brock Lesnar confrontation until later.
If Strowman isn’t able to come back in time, then Seth Rollins or Finn Balor are going to probably be put into the Universal Title picture for GBOF. Braun’s been pulled from house shows up to July. But he’s still being advertised for shows in mid-July such as the Huntington, WV show on July 15th. Only time will tell on this one.
