WWE’s United Kingdom Championship Tournament at the beginning of the year has seen the company sign many British talents, but they have not yet used them on WWE TV. The stars were all part of WrestleMania Axxess this past weekend and also made an appearance on 205 Live on Tuesday night.
Trent Seven, Mark Andrews, Wolfgang, Pete Dunne and the United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate all appeared on 205 Live with Tom Phillips stating: “Arriving in the near future, a new WWE UK Championship weekly show.”
Phillips didn’t give any more details, but it is thought that Vince McMahon talked about expanding the British wrestlers into their own division at a conference call with investors back in February and now WWE officials are finally getting round to it, with a new weekly TV show being the first part of the deal.
There have already been two dates announced for the UK Championship competitors and members of 205 Live in Norwich next month, and it is thought that this will then lead to more appearances from both sets of stars.
There are already two British stars on the 205 Live roster “Gentleman” Jack Gallagher and Newcastle’s own, King of the Cruiserweights Neville, so it seems as though this could be a fantastic fit for both sides and could help promote both the British stars and the cruiserweights at the same time.
