They say that anything can happen when you watch WWE programming and on the road to WrestleMania 39 a familiar face returned when Lita decided to team up with Becky Lynch. Together they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles and they went on to team up with Trish Stratus to face Damage CTRL at WrestleMania.
The situation with the power trio took a drastic turn last week when Lita was mysteriously attacked backstage. Trish Stratus went on to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Becky Lynch, but they ended up dropping the belts to Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez. Lita’s attacker has yet to be revealed and it doesn’t sound like WWE has plans to follow up on the angle anytime soon.
PWInsider Elite reports that Lita has not been at any of the TV tapings since she was attacked last week at Raw. There’s been no mention of any plans to use Lita at this current time, but there’s speculation that she could get involved in the Trish Stratus story down the line.
It’s been rumored for some time now that WWE is looking to book a Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch match which is expected to take place at SummerSlam. Only time will tell if WWE decides to bring Lita back to get involved in the storyline.
