You never know what’s going to happen in the world of professional wrestling and back in April, WWE announced the acquisition of AAA. Since then a number of AAA talents have made appearances on WWE programming and the two companies crossed over earlier this month at the Worlds Collide premium live event.

When the acquisition was announced former WWE star Alberto Del Rio was the AAA Mega Champion, but he has since dropped the title to El Hijo del Vikingo. In recent months there’s been a lot of talk about Alberto’s status with WWE and it doesn’t appear that the company has any interest in using him.

Cory Hays of Bodyslam.net is reporting that WWE currently has no plans to bring Alberto Del Rio back to the company. It’s being said that WWE are adamant about not using Alberto whatsoever. The belief is that there’s zero chance Alberto Del Rio will be returning to WWE despite WWE’s acquisition of AAA.

Alberto Del Rio initially signed with WWE in 2009 and remained with the company until 2014 when he was fired. He later went on to return to WWE in 2015, but was released in 2016.
