WWE Has Begun Pushing Mae Young As “Babe Ruth Of WWE” Instead Of The Fabulous Moolah

For decades, the two biggest pioneers of women’s wrestling that people remembered from WWE were The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. In recent years, Chyna, Trish Stratus, and others have been added to the list, but every female wrestler looks up to Moolah and Young.

Over the years, Moolah and Young have been two sides of the same coin, but it’s now being reported by Rajah.com that WWE officials are looking to showcase Mae’s contributions to the industry over Moolah’s and will be hyping her as the “Babe Ruth of Women’s Wrestling.”

Historically, WWE has always favored The Fabulous Moolah because of her title history and the close friendship she had with Vince McMahon Sr. In the present day, Stephanie McMahon was closer with Mae Young before her death, which will play a big factor in the coming years.

For instance, WWE named the upcoming women’s tournament the “Mae Young Classic.” The Fabulous Moolah Classic doesn’t slide off the tongue as well, but WWE officials are looking to push Young as the “greatest female performer in WWE history” for the foreseeable future.

WWE will begin taping footage for the “Mae Young Classic” tournament at Full Sail University in July.
