Jack Perry has been with AEW since the early days and in recent months Perry has been getting a decent amount of TV time as he embraces his new heel persona. However, it’s not clear when we could be seeing Jack Perry on AEW programming again as he’s currently suspended following a backstage altercation with CM Punk that took place at All In.
While Jack Perry got suspended following the altercation, CM Punk got fired as Tony Khan announced last week that Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated. Eric Bischoff discussed Jack Perry’s status on 83 Weeks and the WWE Hall of Famer noted that he thinks Jack Perry should be fired as well.
“Just cut the guy [Perry] loose. First of all, you’re talking about a thimble full of talent to begin with. He’s really only there because his dad [Luke Perry] was a soap opera star — that’s it. Otherwise, he’s making $200 a night on the indie circuit somewhere. This guy is not a star, he’ll never be a star. By virtue of the fact that he thinks using real glass is going to get him heat, [it] should tell you everything you need to know about his potential. He doesn’t understand the very fundamentals of the business.”
