WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals Brock Lesnar’s Reaction To Botched Shooting Star Press At WrestleMania 19

Brock Lesnar has been involved in some of the biggest matches in WrestleMania history, and he got his first chance to main event the Show of Shows when he faced Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19.

The match received a lot of praise, but one of the things people remember most about the match is Brock Lesnar’s botched shooting star press.

The Beast unfortunately failed to nail the move, and he ended up landing on his head. Backstage Brock Lesnar started throwing things and medical people did not want to get close to him.

WWE Hall of Famer Gerald Brisco recently explained to ESPN that Michael Hayes sent him in to get control of Brock.

“Brisco, you need to go control your boy,” Hayes said.

“‘Calm down, Brock.’ We both embraced, and I said, ‘You OK?’ He said, ‘My damn neck.’ I said, ‘Let’s go look at it, let’s get you some medical help.’ He didn’t want any. I said, ‘You’ve gotta have it.’ We ended up spending the night at the hospital. I stayed with him, of course.”

Brisco also noted that earlier in the day he told Brock that he didn’t have to do the move, but Brock told him, “I’m just afraid if I don’t they won’t think I’m good enough to do things. I want to do it.”

The WWE Hall of Famer added that Brock was still in a rage by the time he reached the hospital.

“Even in the hospital, he was so pissed off that something happened to him that he was still in a rage. The doctor tried to talk to him. Brock said, ‘I want to go, I want to go.’ They took an X-ray and decided it would be best for him to spend the night there and discharge him in the morning. He had great medical care and he was happy about that. He calmed down. They gave him some sedatives, too, of course.”

Unfortunately Brock didn’t manage to hit a perfect shooting star press, but he did walk out of the WrestleMania main event with one of the top prizes in the industry, so his night wasn’t all bad.
