MJF is the current AEW World Champion and he recently defended the belt against Bryan Danielson in the main event of Revolution earlier this month. The match received a lot of positive reviews for the action that took place, but one of the things that people couldn’t stop talking about when it was all said and done was an incident where MJF threw a drink on a young fan in the crowd.
The AEW World Champion’s actions have been heavily criticized since Revolution, and Road Dogg indicated on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast that if a WWE Superstar did something like that they would be punished.
“To me, that’s not a good thing unless that was a plant or somebody’s kid and they knew that it was okay to do that. I don’t think it’s good … I’m thinking about it from a corporate standpoint and I can tell you this much, we wouldn’t do that on one of our shows and if the individual did it on one of our shows, they would probably be punished for it.”
After the incident with MJF the fan was taken backstage which Road Dogg said was AEW’s way of doing crisis control when he added, “The kid getting backstage was all them trying to make up for the talent going into business for themself. That’s not a negative and he ain’t the first one to do it … from a business standpoint that’s exactly why they went into crisis-control mode.”
