Ronda Rousey recently joined WWE, and she officially signed her contract at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Last week on Raw it was officially announced that Rousey will compete at WrestleMania, and she’ll be teaming up with Kurt Angle to take on the team of Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
Ronda is very new to the wrestling world, so she still has a lot to learn, but it seems that some fans aren’t willing to cut her a break as her mic skills and other elements of her performance have come under criticism as of late.
TMZ recently caught up with WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page to ask him about his thoughts on Rousey, and he thinks that eventually she will thrive.
“Give the girl a break man. She’s gonna be great. She’s a great athlete, she brings a lot to the sport and so much attention to WWE because again, I’ve said it over and over again — she’s the biggest woman star as far as athletes in the world. So, it’s gonna draw a lot of attention. It’s a lot of pressure coming in, but that girl thrives on pressure. I believe it will come out. It’s like a diamond under pressure. I believe in her.”
DDP went on to say that he didn’t really find his character until he stopped trying to be over the top, and started trying to be more like himself.
He added that he believes Rousey will find herself in WWE, and it seems that he has nothing but confidence in her future with the company.
