There have been many wrestlers who have been lucky enough to have long and successful careers inside the squared circle, but this isn’t ballet, and no one can wrestle forever.
WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry was recently asked by i95’s Large Dave about a potential return to the ring, and he indicated that he’s not going to be wrestling in the future.
“HA HA HA HA HA HA! I mean, Man, you made me laugh, I’m not getting back in there! If somebody hits me, I’m callin’ the police!”
Henry’s last in-ring appearance took place at the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view in April of 2018 where he competed in the 50 man Greatest Royal Rumble match which was won by Braun Strowman. Mark Henry last competed in a singles match on Raw when he faced Braun Strowman in February of 2017.
Mark Henry has since gone on to become a commentator in All Elite Wrestling, and he noted that he’s a jack of all trades when it comes to his role with AEW.
“Man, I am a Jack of all Trades, I’ve been blessed to be able to master a few of them, I’m new to the announcing, and the backstage announcing, but I’m doing pretty good, and I’m enjoying doing it, but I’m most proud of being a part of our community team. To touch all of the members and fans of the communities that we go into, before we do our shows, that’s something special, we leave the place better than we found it.”
