CM Punk is always a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling, and for weeks now people have been talking about his backstage altercation with The Elite at the All Out pay-per-view back in September.
Everyone seems to have an opinion when it comes to CM Punk, and WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dan said that he thinks CM Punk really believes that he is the best while talking with Inside The Ropes.
“CM Punk probably has as big of an ego as anybody I can think of that I met in the business. I’m not saying that necessarily in a bad way. Depends on how you take it, but I think that he believes that he really is the best, you know, the best in the world.”
Rob Van Dam also noted that when he returned from his suspension in 2006, CM Punk called a backstage meeting during his first show back when he recalled, “I’m at the first show back and CM Punk approaches me at the building. And he says, ‘Hey, Rob. I just want to let you know that I’m gonna have a team meeting in the dressing room.’ He says, ‘Of course, this has nothing to do with you. I just wanna tell you so you know when everyone is back there and stuff.”
According to Rob Van Dam he was surprised that a newcomer had appointed himself the locker room leader, but added that some people are confident when it comes to taking on that role.
