According to Sportskeeda, WWE is making phone calls to former female wrestlers to return for WrestleMania and the upcoming women’s tournament that will happen over the summer at some point. There is some speculation about a former superstar like Lita getting involved.
The three biggest names that are being speculated are Lita, Trish Stratus, and Jazz. Trish just had a baby, so she’s likely out. Jazz is still working the independents, but current WWE fans may not remember her as well. Lita is still beloved and a plausible option for a WWE return.
It’s being said that WWE officials may be looking for a big name to challenge Charlotte for the Raw Women’s Championship the same way Mickie James did with Asuka. Charlotte vs. Lita would be a huge match for WrestleMania 33, and a better final match for Lita’s career.
