When Nexus first debuted in WWE they quickly became a force to be reckoned with. For months Nexus dominated WWE programming, and sent a message to the roster by attacking WWE Superstars.
Unfortunately Nexus ended up fizzling out, but a former WWE Superstar is claiming that WWE had plans to bring the group back at WrestleMania 36.
Darren Young was recently a guest on the VP Show, and he noted that original plans called for the group to appear in Tampa this year.
“If Nexus would’ve come back, and who knows what would’ve happened, but we were scheduled to come back for WrestleMania. Yeah, this year’s WrestleMania in Tampa.”
WWE obviously had to make a lot of changes to WrestleMania due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the event was moved from Tampa to the Performance Center in Orlando.
It’s not clear at this point in time which members of the group would have returned, or if WWE still plans to use this angle at some point in the future.
Stay tuned for updates.
