Back in August WWE moved their TV tapings to the Amway Center, and they rechristened the venue ThunderDome. The state of the art structure is certainly impressive to say the least, but WWE’s time at the Amway Center is running out.
WWE’s lease with the Amway Center is set to expire later this month, and it’s been reported that WWE has to be out of the venue by December 5.
According to eWrestlingNews.com, WWE will be moving ThunderDome from the Amway Center in Orlando, FL to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Now WrestleVotes is reporting that current plans call for WWE to start running shows at Tropicana Field in mid-December, and shows will run at the venue through WrestleMania season.
It was also noted that it’s still possible that fans will be in attendance for the Royal Rumble, potentially at Tropicana Field.
It’s also being said that WWE is hoping to start doing traditional live arena shows the night after WrestleMania 37.
Newest plan now is to have ThunderDome shows at Tropicana Field in Tampa starting mid December thru Mania season. Fans at the Royal Rumble still possible, potentially even at the Trop in TB. WWE is hoping to start traditional live arena shows w/ fans the night after WrestleMania.
