WWE Files Trademarks For Old WCW PPV Names

WWE is a company that is constantly filing trademarks, and it looks like WWE recently filed two trademarks related to some classic WCW pay-per-view names.

On January 19th WWE filed to trademark “Uncensored” and “Superbrawl” with the USPTO, and the trademark descriptions for “Uncensored” and “Superbrawl” respectively can be seen below.

“Entertainment services, namely, ongoing television programs in the field of professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production of professional wrestling events and organizing exhibitions of professional wrestling events for entertainment purposes, all rendered through broadcast media, namely, television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media, namely, television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing sports and entertainment information through broadcast media, namely, television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website featuring sports entertainment information”

“Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fans; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment”

It’s not clear at this point in time if WWE will be using either name in the future, but the company has revived old WCW concepts for NXT such as WarGames and Halloween Havoc. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
