It’s not uncommon at all for WWE stars to make the jump to All Elite Wrestling as we’ve seen it happen many times over the last few years. In October of 2023, Edge debuted in AEW using his real name Adam Copeland.

Recently WWE filed to trademark the name “Edge” on November 19 for wrestling purposes according to the official United States Patent and Trademark Office website.

The full description for the trademark reads as follows:

“Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal.”

Adam Copeland wrestled his last match inside a WWE ring when he faced off against Sheamus during an episode of SmackDown in Toronto in August of 2023. He went on to debut with AEW at the WrestleDream pay-per-view a few months later.

Following his debut Copeland was wrestling regularly on AEW programming and he managed to win the TNT Championship twice. Adam Copeland last wrestled at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May when he successfully defended the TNT Championship against Malakai Black. Unfortunately he was stripped of the title as he suffered a fractured tibia during the match and he’s been out of action since then.
