WWE has a plethora of trademark filings associated with the company, and now it looks like they’ve filed to add one more to the list.
Fightful is reporting that WWE filed a new trademark for “Intercontinental Championship” on July 10.
The Intercontinental Championship was first introduced in 1979 with Pat Patterson becoming the inaugural champion. AJ Styles defeated Daniel Bryan in the finals of a tournament to crown a new champion back in June, and he is the current champion.
The trademark filing was for the following purposes:
