There are a lot of trends that make you go “that’s totally ridiculous” but they take off anyway. Fidget spinners have actually been around a long time and used with treatment for Autism among other issues and have also been found to help with ADD and anxiety. This writer finds they help with his carpal tunnel too.
Okay, yes I have a fidget spinner and a fidget cube at my desk. But I was one of those people who saw them initially and went “that’s totally ridiculous,” then I played with one and I can’t imagine my life without the ability to keep my hand busy so my mind can concentrate on research. But I’ll even admit they’re pretty asinine.
WWE is no stranger to fads. They’ve jumped on the bandwagon of practically every big cultural thing so far and fidget spinners are no exception. They recently released a line of WWE Spinners featuring AJ Styles, Bayley, The Hardy Boyz, Sasha Banks, John Cena, Seth Rollins, Alexa Bliss, Finn Balor, Roman Reigns and an Enzo Amore Certified G cheetah spotted spinner. That’s ten in total and at $9.99 a piece, you can collect them all even though you probably don’t need to.
In all fairness, they look like nice spinners made out of plastic with a metal covering. The description says they can spin for 1-3 minutes which is all you really need after all. For $9.99 you’re not going to get the same performance as a $1,200 fidget spinner, but who really needs a $1,200 fidget spinner in the first place?
Finn Balor’s attention was called to the fact he got his own fidget spinner recently and apparently his response was to be rather ashamed. It must be a cultural thing, or maybe Finn doesn’t think Balor Club needs to be represented on something that’s just going to be taken away by a teacher if a kid gets caught playing with it in class.
