Anything can happen when you watch WWE programming, and last week Zelina Vega shocked the world when she returned to WWE to face Liv Morgan on Friday Night SmackDown.
PWInsider reports that there are people within the company who felt that Zelina Vega should not have been released, and these people pushed for conversations between the two sides to continue.
The conversations did continue, and it’s being reported that after a long period of going back and forth WWE executives apologized to Zelina Vega then made her an offer to return. Zelina Vega then decided to return to the company.
One source claimed Vega agreed to return back in May, while another claims that it was much sooner than that, but the idea was to keep her return quiet so they could come up with a strategy.
It’s not clear why WWE waited until now to bring her back. She had not been at any TV tapings in recent months, but was backstage last week.
Zelina Vega will compete in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, and the MITB pay-per-view will air on Sunday, July 18.
