WWE Elimination Chamber: WWE Championship Match

It was time for the Elimination Chamber match where six men will enter but only one will leave as the WWE Champion. Ambrose was introduced first and took his pod, followed by Baron Corbin, Miz, and Bray Wyatt. Therefore Cena and Styles kicked off this match. The fireflies were thick for Bray on Sunday night, as he was rumored to walk away with the biggest prize on the blue team’s show.

Fans were not only excited to see an Elimination Chamber match but also to see AJ and John battle each other once more after their epic 4 3/4 star match at the Royal Rumble. The fact that Cena was introduced to start off the match made people wonder whether or not he was going to be eliminated early, or make it to the end to once again prove that he’s worthy of the nickname “Super Cena.”

The 20th Elimination Chamber in WWE history started off with a bang as the crowd traded “AJ Styles” and “Let’s go Cena” chants. Cena and Styles circled each other for a bit until AJ latched on a headlock. AJ eventually got Cena up in a backbreaker rack and spun him around for a slam for a two-count. Cena hit AJ with a Code Red for a close two-count.

Styles set up for the Styles Clash, but John launched AJ upward for a flapjack instead. Cena ended up hitting AJ with a couple shoulder tackles and then slammed The Phenomenal One to the mat. Just as Cena looked like he was going for a 5-knuckle shuffle, Ambrose’s pod was opened and he took Cena to the woodshed.

Styles tried to take Dean on, but The Lunatic Fringe turned it around on Styles by hitting a sick looking maneuver on the outside steel grate, wait, it’s a new chamber so there isn’t a steel grate anymore.

AJ has a history of back problems, but apparently, Dean didn’t care. Dean then climbed up on top of his pod and launched himself on a standing John Cena with his patented elbow drop. “This is Awesome” chants erupted in the arena and Miz wasn’t even in the match yet.

Cena hit a two-man german suplex on AJ and Dean and all three men laid prone in the ring. Once the three men got to their feet there were a few exchanges, but they all eventually took each other out again just as Bray Wyatt entered the match.

Bray started leveling everyone he could get his hands on, but AJ pulled the top rope down sending Bray outside. Wyatt then tossed Styles into the chain-linked structure and he hit hard. This match has no soft spots.

Cena and Styles met once more on the outside of the ring and they ended up climbing up the chamber. You can tell how they’ve restructured the chamber to be much more climber friendly. John got sent to the outside just as Dean joined AJ on the top of Miz’s pod.

Ambrose jumped off on Wyatt, but Bray countered with a slam. Wyatt placed Dean on the top turnbuckle and applied some hard headbutts to Ambrose. AJ joined the fight and Dean hit AJ and Bray with a “Tower of Doom” type move on the two of them.

Baron Corbin joined his first Elimination Chamber match and zeroed in on Ambrose. He hit a Deep Six on Ambrose but didn’t pin him before Bray jumped on him. Bray set up for a Sister Abigail on Corbin, but he was sent into Miz’s pod.

John Cena got his with an End of Days from Corbin but was distracted by Ambrose before he could make the pin. Corbin ended up lawn darting Ambrose into the chamber’s chain link structure for good measure.

The Lone Wolf looked dominant and this match did him all kinds of favors. He looked amazing as he took everyone out until Miz’s pod was opened and Corbin was distracted by Miz which gave Ambrose the chance to roll him up for a pin.

Baron Corbin was the first eliminated, but he still gave Dean a good beat-down and sent him through a pod in the process. For the record, this writer would be fine with Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin at WrestleMania for the Intercontinental Title.

Ambrose was broken by Corbin and Miz had yet to leave his pod, he leapt at the chance to pin Dean and got the three-count.

Dean Ambrose is the second man eliminated thanks to Baron Corbin.

Miz started some “Yes” chants and delivered Daniel Bryan kicks to Bray and Cena as the crowd bought into it full tilt while they chanted “Yes” with each shot.

Cena caught Miz in mid-air and gave him an Attitude Adjustment for the three-count. The third man eliminated is Miz.

As soon as John eliminated the A-lister, he pointed at the WrestleMania logo hanging from the rafters. Seeing how they just brought Maryse into the Nikki Bella deal by having her get caught up in that backstage skirmish, it’s likely that we’ll see that mixed-tag match with John and Nikki vs. Maryse and Miz.

John hit a double 5-knuckle shuffle on Bray and AJ, and gave Wyatt an AA. Styles countered an AA with a Styles Clash, but Cena kicked out.

AJ poised himself to deliver a Phenomenal Forearm on Cena and ended up in an AA for another close two-count. John Cena scaled the chamber once more, they’re doing a whole heck of a lot of climbing the chamber in this one. Cena got Wyatt up for the AA and Wyatt reversed it into a Sister Abigail to pin Cena.

John Cena is eliminated. There will be a new champion. AJ looked scared before Bray laid into him.

Bray started doing that creepy spider walk and snatched AJ for a Sister Abigail but Styles reversed it.

AJ hit the overhead kick and followed with a springboard 450 splash. Styles rolled back outside and primed himself for a Phenomenal Forearm, but Bray snatched Styles out of the air and hit a Sister Abigail for the win.

Bray Wyatt is the winner of the Elimination Chamber match and the new WWE World Champion!

The era of Wyatt is finally upon us! Let the fireflies rejoice.

During the closing moments of the night Orton emerged on the ramp to stare down his Wyatt Family brethren and WrestleMania dance partner.
