You’re probably already well aware of the hacking scandal that has rocked the WWE Universe to its very core. Paige, Brad Maddox and New Day member Xavier Woods were all affected by the leaked photos and videos that surfaced online, and WWE decided to keep Woods out of the spotlight on Monday Night Raw this week.
Early on in the show it was obvious that the fans in attendance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn were well aware of the leak as they chanted “We Want Paige” throughout Raw.
WWE played it safe and relegated Xavier Woods to a pre-taped backstage segment for the night. In the video Big E seemingly references the scandal as he asks Xavier Woods, “so, is there anything you want to tell us about?” Woods then starts hyping up WrestleMania 33 like a true professional.
It was smart on WWE’s part to keep Xavier Woods away from the live audience this week, as there’s really no telling what kind of creative chants would have made their way to TV. Either way, it doesn’t look like the company is taking any chances with this latest scandal, as they have yet to issue a statement or address it publicly, and they’ve also disabled comments on The New Day’s latest YouTube video.
With less than two weeks to go before WrestleMania WWE officials are likely hoping that the chatter regarding the scandal dies down before the big event, because The New Day are set to host, and we all know how rowdy WrestleMania crowds can get.
