Earlier this month it was reported that Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid had requested to be released from WWE, and it was later reported that the release had not been made official.
It appears that WWE doesn’t have any plans to release Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid as Reid recently took to Twitter to confirm that his request to be released has been denied. He also confirmed that his contract with WWE is set to expire in October, and he’s planning to leave the company when he posted the following on Twitter:
“As of today, WWE has denied my request for my release. I want to thank you all for your support throughout my career, I’ll never take that for granted. My contract with WWE expires on 14th October 2023. I’m excited to share our next chapter, once we are free agents.”

Rip Fowler also shared a similar message when he posted the following:
“Today WWE have denied our release, which was requested on April 3rd. On 15th Oct ’23 we will be free agents again. I personally want to thank all of our fans for your continued support, it means a lot to both of us especially during times like these! We’ll see you on the 16th!”

Fowler & Reid were formerly known as the Grizzled Young Veterans and together they managed to capture the NXT UK Tag Team Championship in 2019. More recently they’ve been featured on NXT programming as part of Schism. Stay tuned for more updates on their status as they become available.
