The last few weeks have been big for WWE thanks to the 2023 WWE Draft and the Backlash premium live event. WWE has been making big moves with the roster and it sounds like the company may be looking for at least one former champion to turn heel.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that there has been a pitch internally to turn Asuka heel. Asuka was recently drafted to the SmackDown brand along with Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair, and it’s also being reported that WWE is considering the idea of having Asuka and Belair face off in a rematch at Night of Champions later this month.
Asuka last appeared on WWE programming when she challenged Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39. If WWE decides to move forward with an Asuka vs. Bianca Belair match at Night of Champions then The Empress of Tomorrow would likely have to make her return to TV sooner rather than later.
