WWE Considering Interesting Request For Fans Who Attend TV Tapings

WWE tapes several television shows every week and the live audience adds an unpredictable element to the show. You never know what the audience is going to say as fans sometimes use colorful language while chanting things like “holy s***” or as we saw on Raw this week, “f*** you Rollins” chants were directed at Seth Rollins.

The colorful chants certainly aren’t uncommon, but Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is considering making an announcement before the shows which would involve asking the fans not to swear.

“With WWE, it is so annoying having to deal with that constant when they do the chants. Sometimes I think, and people have actually suggested this, of just like making an announcement of, ‘Hey, we’re here. It’s a TV show. It’s going all over the world. We want you to have fun, don’t swear.'”

“In the past if they had done that, the audience would have then started swearing because they wouldn’t want to be controlled. But I think this audience is mature enough and smart enough and everything like that that if you told them that I think they might be okay with it…That is something that has been suggested, I know that, but they don’t do it.”

One way or another it will be interesting to see if WWE moves forward with this idea, and even more interesting to see how fans react to the request if they do.
