WWE has been making moves recently as the Friday Night SmackDown brand officially shifted over to USA Network last week. As part of WWE’s deal with NBCUniversal the company will get primetime programming on NBC and it’s been rumored that Saturday Night’s Main Event could be returning.
Today WWE confirmed that Saturday Night’s Main Event will air live on NBC on Saturday, December 14th. The show will also be simulcast on Peacock. According to the announcement Saturday Night’s Main Event will take place from Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, NY. Current plans call for Saturday Night’s Main Event to air quarterly on NBC and Peacock.
WWE posted the following announcement:
“September 17, 2024 – WWE and NBC announce the return of the iconic Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will air live on Saturday, December 14 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and simulcast on Peacock. The special will be held at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island, N.Y., the site of the first-ever Saturday Night’s Main Event.
This marks the first primetime special, which will air quarterly on NBC and Peacock, as part of WWE’s new, five-year domestic media rights partnership with NBCUniversal, which officially kicked off last Friday with SmackDown on USA Network.
