WWE announced on Monday that Paige has been suspended for 60 days for violating the Wellness Policy. Shortly after the suspension was announced she lashed out on Twitter saying that she had been suspended for taking something that was prescribed to her.
“Same s–t different day,” Paige wrote on Twitter. “Kids … Please don’t get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable. Rules apply depending on your status.”
Paige’s father Ricky Knight then took to Facebook and posted a statement saying that she has been taking painkillers, which she has a prescription for, because she’s dealing with a neck injury.
WWE issued a statement to the New York Post as a response to Paige, and according to WWE she tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug.
“Saraya-Jade Bevis tested positive for an illegal substance, not a prescription drug. In addition, WWE is providing world-class medical care for her in-ring injury.”
The 24 year old former Divas Champion has been out of action for months now due to her injury. She recently indicated on Twitter that she may undergo surgery to repair her neck.
Paige was suspended for the first time back in August, and while she was serving her suspension it was rumored that she was trying to leave WWE. She later shot the rumors down when she posted a statement on Instagram saying she’s staying with the company, and looking forward to returning to the ring when she’s healthy.
