WWE Changing Royal Rumble Plans For Brock Lesnar?

Brock Lesnar is the reigning, defending WWE Universal Champion, and even though there are few WWE Superstars who can go toe to toe with Brock Lesnar, there are many who want a shot at his title.

Over the past few months Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns have all stepped up to challenge The Beast for his belt, but they have all failed to capture the title.

There’s another member of the WWE Raw roster who has made it well known that he wants a shot at the Universal Championship, and his name is Finn Balor. Last year at SummerSlam, Finn Balor became the first ever Universal Champion, but he had to vacate the belt the next night due to injury.

Fans have been waiting to see Finn Balor challenge for the title he never lost ever since he returned earlier this year, but even though the match has been teased a few times, it hasn’t happened yet.

Brock Lesnar won’t be defending his title at the Survivor Series pay-per-view, so his next title defense will likely happen at the Royal Rumble in January. It was recently reported that plans called for Finn Balor to face Lesnar at the pay-per-view, but it’s rumored that plans have changed.

According to CageSideSeats WWE officials may have soured on the idea of a Brock Lesnar vs. Finn Balor match. If that is indeed the case then it would likely explain Finn Balor’s booking as of late. Balor wrestled an excellent match against AJ Styles at TLC, but many fans were baffled when he lost to Kane the next night on Raw.

Who do you want to see challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble? Sound off in the comments below.
