WWE Changes Top Raw Superstar’s Name

It’s certainly not uncommon for WWE to change Superstar’s names from time to time, and in the past we’ve seen certain wrestlers lose their first name.

Now it appears that former Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy is the latest star to have his name changed, as his profile on WWE.com was updated to show that he’s now listed as simply Murphy.

Other stars who have had their names shortened in the past include Rusev, Cesaro, Mustafa Ali and more. Although the Mustafa was later added back to Mustafa Ali’s name.

Murphy has become one of the top stars on Raw in recent weeks after he joined Seth Rollins’ stable along with AOP, and he currently holds the Raw Tag Team Titles with Rollins.
