You never know who might show up on Friday Night SmackDown and last month fans saw former NXT star Gunther get called up to the blue brand. Gunther didn’t come alone was he was accompanied by former Imperium stable mate Marcel Barthel who had been renamed Ludwig Kaiser.
Ludwig Kaiser has been accompanying Gunther to the ring for weeks now on SmackDown, but it appears that WWE has made a small alteration to his name has been changed from “Ludwig” to “Ludvig” on WWE.com.
There’s currently no word on why WWE altered the name. However, it’s become a common trend for WWE stars to have their names changed or shortened as we’ve seen recently with talents like Theory, Ciampa and LA Knight who recently appeared on SmackDown as Max Dupri.
