There’s never a good time for a wrestling to be injured, and now one of the champions on the WWE roster has vacated their title due to a shoulder injury.
During Tuesday’s episode of NXT, Elio LeFleur confirmed that his labrum and ligaments are torn in his shoulder. He then added that he will be out of action for six months, and he needs to relinquish his WWE Speed Championship. LeFleur also announced that a tournament to crown the new WWE Speed Champion will be kicking off next week.

It was reported recently that Elio LeFleur and Lexis King were injured during an eight man tag team match at the NXT live event in Lakeland, Florida on March 20. Luckily Lexis King was cleared, but unfortunately LeFleur was not so lucky.
Elio LeFleur originally won the WWE Speed Championship when he picked up a victory over Jasper Troy and Eli Knight on the February 24th episode of NXT. At this point in time it’s not clear who will be competing in the tournament to crown a new champion.
Stay tuned for updates.
