WWE Cancels NXT Manchester Event Due To Terrorist Attack

We previously reported WWE officials were considering cancelling their upcoming NXT live show in Manchester on June 6th. There was an awful terrorist attack that took the lives of many people and injured even more at an Ariana Grande on May 22nd and WWE didn’t want to take any chances. After much consideration WWE has indeed decided to pull the plug on the show.

With so many unpredictable elements in today’s world it is really a sad occurrence that this is a reality. But NXT stars will still be in Manchester they just won’t be wrestling at the previously scheduled event.

In an official announcement from WWE, they released the following statement:

“Out of respect for all those affected by the Manchester tragedy, WWE is cancelling the NXT event on Tuesday, June 6 at the Manchester Arena, and giving fans who purchased tickets to the show a full refund and offering them the option to receive a free ticket at point of purchase to the NXT show on Wednesday, June 7 at First District Arena in Leeds.

Our Superstars will be in Manchester on June 6 visiting with those affected by the tragedy and WWE is making a donation to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.

We look forward to returning to the Manchester Arena on Monday, November 6 for Raw and Tuesday, November 7 for SmackDown Live.”

The rest of NXT’s tour seems to be still on and the only event affected by the horrid terrorist attack is the show at the Manchester Arena. If you can catch an NXT show, it is really worth your time. These guys and girls put on an incredible show.

The rest of the dates on the tour still taking place are listed below:

June 5 — Aberdeen at AECC GE Oil & Gas Arena

June 7 — Leeds at First District Arena

June 8 — Brighton at The Brighton Centre
