WWE is known for having its tentpole events, but from time to time the company introduces a new premium live event as fans saw earlier this year with Day 1.
Originally WWE had scheduled the Day 1 premium live event for January 1, 2023 at the State Farms Arena in GA. However, Wrestlenomics is now reporting that Day 1 has been canceled.
There’s currently no word on why the event was canceled, but there are no plans to reschedule or rebrand the show. It doesn’t appear that ticket sales were the reason for the cancelation as Dave Meltzer noted that tickets for the show had yet to go on sale.
It seemed that WWE was setting Day 1 up to be an annual event, but with Day 1 off the schedule WWE will now have a gap between the Survivor Series premium live event on November 26, and the Royal Rumble on January 28. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
