Dolph Ziggler has always been pretty open when it comes to talking about his career, and he recently said on Edge and Christian’s podcast that he would be making a big decision about his future soon.
It seems that WWE creative decided to use the uncertainty regarding Dolph’s future to their advantage by turning it into a storyline, and the storyline definitely has people talking.
After winning the United States Championship at Clash of Champions, Dolph Ziggler celebrated his big win on SmackDown Live, but then he left the title in the ring and walked away.
SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan later announced that Dolph relinquished the title, and a tournament is currently underway to crown a new champion.
For the time being, everyone is focused on the US Title tournament, but we still don’t have answers regarding what the future holds for Dolph Ziggler.
One idea that’s rumored to be on the table is the possibility of recreating a storyline that culminated at WrestleMania X by having Dolph return as the “rightful” US Champion with two champions fighting in a ladder match with dual belts on the line.
WrestleVotes, who broke the story about Neville walking out a few months ago, recently noted that the idea is rumored to be something that’s being considered.
If this match does take place, then it could potentially be a big deal for Dolph Ziggler, as he’s been with WWE for many years, but still has yet to wrestle a singles match at WrestleMania.
