The stars of WWE are only a few weeks removed from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, but soon they’ll be competing in the Greatest Royal Rumble match.
The match is set to take place at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Friday, April 27, and WWE has confirmed that it will feature 50 wrestlers.
WWE Superstars being advertised for the event include John Cena, Randy Orton, Triple H, Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, The New Day, Bray Wyatt, Shinsuke Nakamura and more.
No word yet on what the winner of the match will receive, or if WWE plans to air the event on the WWE Network, but ticket and broadcast information will be announced over the next few weeks.
“The Greatest Royal Rumble will be a spectacle of historic proportions,” said Vince McMahon, WWE Chairman & CEO. “Our partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority reflects a long-term commitment to present WWE’s world-class entertainment to a global audience on a grander scale than ever before.”
Previously the 2011 Royal Rumble match had been promoted as the biggest Royal Rumble match in history, as it featured 40 Superstars competing for a title shot at WrestleMania. Alberto Del Rio won the match and went on to lose to Edge in the opening match at WrestleMania 27.
