The big Raw 25th Anniversary celebration is going to bring in a ton of attention as well as top names throughout WWE’s illustrious history. It is an incredibly packed show to put it lightly. With so many people scheduled to attend, you almost wonder how WWE will use everyone expected for the event.
With so many big names on the Raw 25th Anniversary show, Dave Meltzer even noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that a big name like Ric Flair’s could even be lost in the crowd. Then he turned his focus to another interesting name that’s set to arrive in New York for the big celebration, Chris Jericho.
“They don’t have a deal with Jericho for the show,” Meltzer said, “no they don’t have a deal.”
After Bryan Alvarez quipped that Y2J was announced for the show, Dave Meltzer continued to explain how WWE could make this happen while not even having anything confirmed just yet. Besides, it was expected for a quite a while that Jericho would be making the star-studded event.
“I mean they could make the deal tomorrow. I mean it’s not out of the blue, let’s put it this way: months ago it was pretty much told to me that he would be on this show. Not that there was a deal, but that was expected. New Japan expected him on this show. They’re not surprised or anything like that. Cause originally the idea was for Jericho to do January 4th [at Wrestle Kingdom] and then do this show.”
“But there is no deal in place so they prematurely announced it” Meltzer went on to say that it’s not a big deal although it is interesting WWE announced Jericho’s involvement before a deal was in place.
