It was never explained why WWE Money in the Bank became SmackDownexclusive and Monday Night Raw wasn’t allowed to have the case on their brand this year, even though during the previous brand split the event was seen as a dual brand pay-per-view with two ladder matches and a case for each title.
TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts recently announced that Clash of Champions would be making its return as a WWE pay-per-view event on December 17th, but even though this was the first event for the Raw brand last year and saw Kevin Owens defeat Seth Rollins with the Universal Championship on the line in the main event, it seems that the event could become exclusive to SmackDown this year, but the brand has yet to be confirmed.
Following SummerSlam, WWE’s pay-per-view schedule looks like this:
September 24, 2017: No Mercy Staples Center
October 8th, 2017: Hell In A Cell (SmackDown Live)
October 22nd, 2017: TLC: Tables Ladders & Chairs (RAW)
November 19th, 2017: Survivor Series (co-branded)
December 17th, 2017: Clash of Champions
WWE has a huge weekend ahead of them with SummerSlam, that could change the landscape of many storylines, which means that by the time WWE rolls into Boston for Clash of Champions, the entire roster could look very different.
