WWE Could Already Be Dropping The Ball On Rusev Day

There are so many amazing things about Rusev Day we actually made a list about it. But for some reason, in spite of huge reactions from fans WWE hasn’t elevated the Bulgarian Brute to the level fans cheer for him to occupy.

As the Rusev Day merchandise seems to multiply it shows a certain confidence in his gimmick. You can now get a blanket, a coffee mug, and t-shirt to celebrate the daily holiday of Rusev Day. So at least Rusev is getting some love from WWE’s shop. But he still can’t quite pull down a big win or capture a title on SmackDown Live.

Some fans might balk at the idea of Rusev not getting his eventual push. But it is also very important to remember we’re dealing with WWE here. Therefore, everything happens on their timetable. So never count WWE out when it comes to ruining a good thing.

“Of course they can, what have they not screwed up?” Bryan Alvarez commented on Wrestling Observer Live when one caller mentioned how WWE could turn Aiden English on Rusev and ruin the act when that’s where their money is. The caller went on to say how WWE is doing their “tried and true slow burn” when Alvarez interrupted saying, “I can’t even say they’re doing a slow burn. I don’t even know what they’re doing.”

It was mentioned how WWE is booking Rusev to lose seemingly killing his momentum much like they did with Damien Sandow when Alvarez continued, “so I don’t think they wanted Damien Sandow to get over, but I think they would be happy if Rusev got over. I don’t think they see him in the same way they saw Sandow […] But my point is, I think they think ‘whenever we want to pull the trigger on Rusev we can pull it. Even if we should do it now, we don’t have to because we can get anyone over when we want to.’ I think that’s what they think.”

So if you’re one of the many fans who celebrate Rusev Day every day, then you might need to sit tight because the Bulgarian Brute very well could be getting his well-deserved push. Or at least it will happen whenever WWE decides the time is right.
