AEW held several special PPV events in 2019, and the company’s weekly TV series, AEW Dynamite officially launched on TNT back in October.
So far ticket sales for the shows seem to be relatively strong, but there are reportedly false stories going around regarding AEW.
Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he blocked the director of an international wrestling documentary because he asked him if it was true that Tony Khan bought the tickets for AEW’s first day sold out events to make the product look hot.
Meltzer went on to claim that the story came from people within WWE who allegedly explained that the company bought up all the tickets to make it look like there was an early sellout.
It’s being said that the story is from within WWE talent, or being told to WWE talent.
