Sunday night after the WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, the WWE 24 – Hardy Boyz: Woken speicial aired on the WWE Network.
During the documentary Jeff opened up about why he left WWE, and said that he was taking too many pain pills to be with WWE at the time, so he let his contract expire and decided to part ways with the company.
He talked about his time in TNA, and said that he thought he was going to set the company on fire, but it didn’t happen that way.
During the segment, WWE aired footage of Jeff Hardy as TNA World Heavyweight Champion with the Global Wrestling Network logo in the corner.
AJ Styles, Eric Bischoff, Samoa Joe and Sting talked about Jeff’s time in TNA, and Sting opened up about their infamous match at Victory Road in 2011.
WWE aired footage of Eric Bischoff telling Jeff that he was going to get hit with a Stinger Splash and a Scorpion Death Drop then the match was going to end.
Sting said he wasn’t mad at Jeff for the way things went down, but he was disappointed.
Jeff said he knew AJ Styles was pissed off.
Matt and Jeff both talked about their issues with substance abuse, and what inspired them to get clean, then Matt opened up about creating the Broken Matt Hardy character in TNA.
WWE then aired footage from The Final Deletion and Matt and Jeff talked about what went into shooting the match, and throughout the segment various scenes from the Broken Hardys run aired.
Matt and Jeff said that working as the Broken Hardys helped them figure out how to have fun again, and Matt noted that he thinks that the characters put them on WWE’s radar.
The documentary then went on to focus on their WWE return at WrestleMania 33, and everything they’ve accomplished since then.
