Fans know that when they tune into WWE programming they will hear a great deal of talking between promos and commentary, but there are some words that WWE talents simply can not say while they’re on the air. WWE’s banned words list has become infamous over the years, and it looks like a state capital has been added to the list.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that during this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw commentators were told that they were not allowed to say the word “Raleigh” during the show.
The show took place from Raleigh, North Carolina, but it’s being reported that WWE doesn’t feel that Raleigh “sounds prestigious enough” which is why it was added to the list of banned words.
During WrestleMania season in 2020 WWE sent out a list of banned words to their promotion partners, and you can get more on that here.
